To understand how the muscle relaxant Botox can lift the eyebrows, we must first look at the cause. The ring muscle, which is located above the eye socket, causes the eyelid to droop or the eyebrows to droop over time as part of the natural ageing process. With age, the skin also loses elasticity and the effect increases.

This is how your brow lift works:

Your doctor or specialist will analyze your forehead muscles and facial expressions before the treatment to determine the optimal dose of Botox. During your consultation, you will decide together with your doctor which dosage of muscle relaxant and which zones will give you your desired result.

During an eyebrow lift, the active ingredient botulinum toxin is injected precisely into and around the eyebrows using the finest needles. The lift is virtually painless for you and only takes a few minutes.

You will see the first effects 3-7 days after the eyebrow lift: Your eyes look bigger and more awake and your facial expression looks younger.

Two weeks after the lift, we look at the result together as part of the aftercare and check whether it meets your expectations. If your eyebrows are still not sufficiently lifted after 2 weeks, for example, we can easily inject them again and lift them further.

Refrain from intensive sport for about 72 hours after your appointment. This allows the muscle relaxant to develop optimally.

Facial massages

You should also avoid rubbing your forehead or applying strong pressure to the treated area for the first few days. This can cause the muscle relaxant to spread unintentionally and negatively affect the result.

Possible risks and side effects?
As with any injection, slight swelling, redness or minor bruising may occur during a botulinum toxin eyebrow lift. Make sure to avoid blood-thinning medication and caffeine before and after the brow lift to minimize bruising as much as possible. The swelling and redness usually go away on their own a few days after your lift. What can happen in rare cases is that the treated region becomes temporarily asymmetrical. If this happens at all, which is extremely rare, it usually goes away on its own. If necessary, the asymmetry can be corrected at a follow-up appointment after the eyebrow lift.

The end result of the Brow Lift usually lasts between three and four months, although the duration of effect can vary from person to person. Your body gradually breaks down the muscle relaxant, after which the muscle activity and drooping eyebrows slowly return.

As the eyebrow lift is carried out with very fine syringes, the brow lift is barely noticeable for you and usually causes no pain. On request, we can apply an anesthetic cream before the lift.
